I was lucky enough to live in the same street as Helen Graham when she started running Iyengar Yoga classes in her home studio many years ago. In this small & intimate setting of classes around 12, I learned yoga in a way that Id never done before. The previous yoga classes I had attended elsewhere had never placed much focus on really aligning the body and getting to the heart of the postures in the way Helen did. I was bereft when Helen moved away, as the other classes I subsequently tried didn't have the discipline in posture control that I'd been used to and I found them unsatisfying. However, I was then delighted to find that Elaine, who had trained with Helen, was carrying on this depth of teaching, to the same rigorous standards, at a local school. I have continued to attend classes there since. The classes are still fairly small, so you get great personal & individual attention.
